Just a little note here about my WormNerd reference to Warfarin. It was discovered a century or more ago as the ingredient which caused the death of cattle that ate soured hay. Used in DeConŽ and other rodent poisons, it causes fatal hemorrhage. Interestingly, it is the active ingredient in CoumadinŽ, one of the most widely used anticoagulant therapy medications. Tomorrow's topic: gardening.

DeConŽ is indeed my mouse poison of choice. I just love the ironic packaging that makes it look like a tasty wedge of cheese. I also love how it is the brand that they sell in the hardware store on my block. Interesting about the hemorrhage. I sometimes notice a little blood around the mouths of the dead ones. Yes, in the past year I have dispatched dozens of rodents. No, they don't seem to be getting the message. The mouse intelligence agency just isn't passing it on to the others that Apartment 5-A is full of little blue death pellets. Maybe I should drop some leaflets in the lobby to educate the other mice. |
