It was surely difficult to rule out the possibility of a bomb on board, though, until real investigation had taken place. And anyway, heres a though. Even if the authorities found out it WAS a terrorist attack, do you they would tell us, or would they cover it up by saying it was an accident, for many obvious advantages for themselves? Think about that one, spade-smeller!
