More Fast-Paced Fun. Not.

1:07 PM: Richard Buckner was real good last night, yep. He's a kind of funny guy. Big ol long haired rock star, calling out for a friend to bring him a whiskey. But then he sings, and I don't know, it's just different. He doesn't seem like the sort of person you would expect to just stand there and belt out a song acapella, but he did, a couple of times, and it worked. Strange songs, carving out this timeless space. He did a cover of Joe Jackson's "Breaking Us In Two" and though that was kind of funny when you first realized it, the song as he played it, really not very funny at all. A lot of the songs had a strong feeling of loss about them. I don't know, I'm talking out of my behind as usual.
Note for self: I knew there was an article in the Bay Guardian about Gillian Welch, but can you get there from their home page? No no. So here it is.
Must do monthly task. Stay here and do, or go to place? Don't know. Yet another show tonight: Herbert, Tipsy, and Ursula Rucker. I like hearing the music and seeing the people play and all, but it's gonna be kind of nice to not do anything this weekend.
4:21: That was disturbing. I was walking down Brennan, on my way to get some prepackaged corporate food, when there I see my name - my actual name - the first name at least - written into the concrete in the sidewalk. I did Not do that. For one thing, I don't make my "a"s like that. First someone with my name starts working here. Then one moves into my building. Now they're claiming the streets where I work. Ever feel like a discontinued model?
If that little monkey boy over there doesn't turn down his goddamn computer I might be in more trouble.
7:39 PM: Man but I have got a big fat ol head these days. If my nose and lips start falling off, that won't be good.
8:49: OK, now this is cold - from a Craig's List ad:
"And.....please be SINGLE - not recently divorced or separated or out of a long termer, widowers welcome [...]"In other words, it's OK if you just broke up with someone, as long as they're dead now.
Willfully blind self-indulgent nebbish or amusingly quirky old coot? And how bout that local sports team? Discuss among yourselves.

All names are fake, most places are real, the
author is definitely
unreliable but it's all in good fun. Yep.
