Awful Late to be So Early
28 March 2001
2:17 PM: Whee! I did a novel thing last night - instead of pushing myself out the door and down to the bar after watching the Buffy rerun, while nearly falling asleep on my feet, I actually fell asleep on my side. Went to bed, in other words. Before midnight! Shocking.
I woke up at about 4 AM, of course, but I lay there mostly asleep and then got up and started working around 5 and really, it's been fine. Except now it's not even 3 PM and I'm getting real burnt out. But hey, that's 14 hours straight, I'm entitled, right?
If only I could convince my fellow cow-orkers of that.
I have good CDs. Sure wish I could find a Napster substitute that didn't suck so I could share them with friends. Yes indeed. Looks sunny outside. Maybe I'll go get a newspaper and read it. Or, there's always the fall-over-into-bed option, it is just behind me. But I think I better stop coding, I am not making well-honed decisions at the moment. I'm barely remembering how to type, and that's all reflex by now.
Willfully blind self-indulgent nebbish or amusingly quirky old coot? And how bout that local sports team? Discuss among yourselves.
All names are fake, most places are real, the author is definitely unreliable but it's all in good fun. Yep.
