SATAN DRIVES TO WORK

6:29 PM: Well that was restful in a sort of not way. Got the latest book in the Colonization series by Harry Turtledove, Aftershocks. And of course, I had to go back and read the previous book first so I would get a running start on who the 6,753 main characters are and what they're doing. But of course.

So I was up until, lessee, 11 AM on Sunday, slept until 4? 5? 7? I don't really know. There was some waking up and sleeping at other hours in there too. Finally finished both of them around 6 AM Today. Which was fine, it's a good book in the way of those books, which is not about prose style in any way but just pure what-happens-next. But how many hours is that spent lying in bed, semi-propped up in one position, and smoking too much? I don't know. A lot of hours. More than three.

So I'm just all kinda happy and bushy-eyed to be at work today, let me tell you. Why can't we have a giant snowstorm and be shut down for a week like the other kids? No fair. Oh, wait - none of us have real heat in our apartments, we'd all die. OK, nevermind.

Willfully blind self-indulgent nebbish or amusingly quirky old coot? And how bout that local sports team? Discuss among yourselves.

All names are fake, most places are real, the author is definitely unreliable but it's all in good fun. Yep.
