SATAN DRIVES TO WORK

  La Vie En Cranque

14 June 2000

8:25 PM: At work until 2 AM last night, because once again, I forgot about the one utterly predictable monthly task I have. Pleh. It did seem like it was just a week or so ago that I was doing last month's, though. Time screws me up. I gotta set up some kind of reminder system. Perhaps a technological solution can be found, here in this bright and shiny future land.

More DSL fun this morning, starting around 9:30 AM. Ow. And after hours and hours, hey presto, let's change your modem, hmmm, the line seems clean now... well, maybe it's working. If it's not, let us know, kay? For this I pay nearly $100 a month? "Hope it works"????

Tomorrow is the dentist at 10:10 AM. Maybe it's some kind of radio tie-in promotion. Then Berkeley Rep that evening. No idea what I'm seeing. I could look it up now, but why take the mystery out of it?

It's very hot in SF these last few days. Well, "very". It's hot. The paper said 103 but I don't believe it. If it was over 90 anywhere I was, I'd be real surprised. Everyone is acting like the world is about to burst into flames. We should be so lucky. Look, it's gonna be foggy and windy and cold again soon enough, OK? Don't begrudge us two or three of our 30 allotted days per year of real warmth.

And tell these damn flies to go away, too.

Willfully blind self-indulgent nebbish or amusingly quirky old coot? And how bout that local sports team? Discuss among yourselves.

All names are fake, most places are real, the author is definitely unreliable but it's all in good fun. Yep.
