10:37 PM: The Pac Bell guy showed up at 9 AM this morning, to put a tag on the phone cable that says "We wuz here" or some such. Because, after all, today was the day they had said they would be here. Never mind that they'd been by twice before to do the same thing that they'd been scheduled to do today. They'll show up today too, because gosh darn it, keeping your word's important when you're a regulated monopoly.
Things got a little interesting around here today. Not much scuttling or buttling, though. Mostly because everyone is relatively pleased. We don't work for Disney, Time Warner, AOL, or Rupert Murdoch, and our stock will be worth something again. Plus, hey - travel boondoggles galore become possible when you're partners with companies based in Germany and Spain. If they'd add an Australian leg, I might think seriously about my future...
The Mighty Bigs are back, no word on what happened. Weird. "It was just you. Only you. No one else saw that. You're crazy."
What else is there to say? Not much. I was going to install software on my PC at work today but the CD drive has finally completely died. So I dinked around instead. Thinking.
Willfully blind self-indulgent nebbish or amusingly quirky old coot? And how bout that local sports team? Discuss among yourselves.
