9:34 PM: A brief pause while rebooting.
Finally, I saw the new Buffy - many macrothanks to Saul for the tape. I don't see why they had to put that silly "TO BE CONTINUED" at the end. Like, what, they were going to stop the whole season otherwise? Or act like none of this had happened? I mean, I know it specifically was about the very very last scene, when, um, that guy meets that other guy in that unexpected place. But so? Just cut to the credits.
Much fun seeing Spike playing the cat set among the pigeons. He even almost makes Adam seem something other than a demon Reverend Timothy Lovejoy. And Freebird, for god's sakes. A drunken Giles pissed off at Buffy and Freebird. One really cannot ask for too much more.
From what I had seen in the previews for the Angel episode, I wasn't expecting anything particularly great. So it was a pleasant surprise to see some real things happen. Which made Cordelia's last little soliloquy on the park bench seem even more like it dropped in from outer space. And, honey, please - no more tanning booths, OK?
All these outside projects are exploding simultaneously. Everyone needs everything done over again plus twice more in Portugese by Monday. When am I supposed to be able to stay up all night reading anymore? Feh.
Willfully blind self-indulgent nebbish or amusingly quirky old coot? And how bout that local sports team? Discuss among yourselves.
