SATAN DRIVES TO WORK

10:15 PM: Strange headline in yesterday's Examiner: BIZARRE POLK ST. SHOOTING. As opposed to your ordinary run-of-the-mill Polk Street shooting, I guess.

I don't know why I'm in such a bad mood. Post vacation let down of some kind. This leather jacket I bought in Melbourne is OK, but it's still a bit too small, and now that I finally have it, the Gap starts selling exactly the sort of thing I was looking for. I know, the Gap, not many Cool Bonus Points, but it's not like they'd do me that much good anyway. More important is that the style is simple and unadorned, no extraneous zippers or buckles or whatnot. So now instead of feeling the small, sneaky triumph of a good thrift store find, it's more like, well, there I go again, wasting my money because I can't stand to not spend it, and spend it right now....

Too, I guess maybe the idea that our entire little company fragment might evaporate in the not-distant future might be on my mind a bit, too. Bleah.

Train again today. Not ready to ride the bike yet. Waiting for what, don't ask me.

Willfully blind self-indulgent nebbish or amusingly quirky old coot? And how bout that local sports team? Discuss among yourselves.

All names are fake, most places are real, the author is definitely unreliable but it's all in good fun. Yep.
