SATAN DRIVES TO WORK

  I Don't Give A Good God Damn

13 August 1998

Today was just sitting in a room talking for too long, with periodic breaks to deal with people inventing new needs, new projects and new priorities at a rate of about 3 per hour. I did not kill anyone. That is my mark of success for the day. I just love finding out offhand that the entire foundation of my job has been "de-emphasized."

Anyways, I don't feel in the least bit funny or quirky, I'm sorry.

Man, I don't even know what time it is. I was about to start writing how silly I was to be staying here at work until 10 PM at night, even though I had to come in this morning at 10 AM. Uh, except it's only 8:45 PM. Where is my lunch? Who are my friends? Where are the songs from yesterday? Who will play Delirium in the movie?

I think my new religion just came in email:

  • NO SELLING OF PRODUCTS
  • NO SPEAKING TO ANYONE
  • NO MEETINGS
  • NO 900#'S
  • NO LOTTERY OR GAMBLING
  • NO STRINGS ATTACHED
  • NO GIMMICKS
  • NO WAY TO LOSE
  • 100% LEGAL & ETHICAL
Add a few dietary laws and I'm set.

Gosh, aren't you excited about the iMac? I am.

Eh. Time to declare Vietnam and get out of here. Maybe I'll have something more scandalous to say after getting tanked. Good Lord, it's barely even 9, if I start drinking at this hour, I will ... get very drunk, hmmmm. Have to think about that one.

11:54 PM:
"So, where's your boyfriend?"
"Oh, he's down in the Mission with some friends tonight."
Flashback:
"It's not personal. I just don't want a boyfriend right now. It's got nothing to do with you."

Damn damn damn damn damn damn damn.

Willfully blind self-indulgent nebbish or amusingly quirky old coot? And how bout that local sports team? Discuss among yourselves.

All names are fake, most places are real, the author is definitely unreliable but it's all in good fun. Yep.
