What is this, Earth? by Wash! on 2005-03-06 23:40:23
Yes. Clearly.
I was coming to work today with a guy I don't know too well - awful driver - and he was talking about last year when there was a lot of rain here, and consequently everything was green: fields, houses, trees, everwhere was just tremendously green. And then he turned to me and jested: "...and I was like, what is this, Mars?"
This perturbed me slightly. Surely if it were Mars, everything would be red, barren, and noticeablty lacking in precipitation. And, as the solar system's most green planet is the one on which we reside, he may have been better off saying something along the lines of: "...and i was like, what is this, Earth?" To which my answer would have been:
"Yes. Clearly."

You make a good call. Unless the guy lives in the Outback of Australia, in which case he has a good call that his land is red. Given that you were going to work - and I know you work in Spain - I suspect he wasn't. Incidentally, if you look through the Bash.org things from conversations in chat rooms, there's a great one about Australians. |

It may not be Mars, but you guys are apparently pretty close to Mercury. Check
