don't always read the rule: if you cook frozen onion rings for 15 minutes on 160, like it says on the back of the packet then they come out soggy and limp. however, if you cook them for 26 minuted on 190 they are crisp, but not burnt, and are delicious.

Remember kids, those are Celsius temps! In Fahrenheit it would be like 325 vs 375. If you cook anything in oil at 160 or even 190 F, it is guaranteed to be soggy and limp.
