Favourite TV moment... by Shlong on 2001-05-10 00:17:53
Mine has to be on an episode of Alan Partridge, where Alan meets his biggest fan, which happens to be a bit of a mental bastard. This fan is also obssessed with David Copperfield, understandable. Now this guy invites Alan round to his house to help him out when he gets into a bit of a mingle with some TV producers. Alan procedes to get lost in his fans house and stumbles in to a dark room, and when he finds the light switch he discovers the room is a shrine to himself and David Copperfield. Alan tries to make his escape but is caught by the now, slightly pissed off fan, and puts him in a head lock to prevent Alans escape. Somehow, Alan manages to escape from the head lock and makes his way to his car outside. Here has a brief conversation with his fan in which he calls him a mentalist and drives off in a big fluster. Only to be stopped 20 metres down the road, which is infact a cul-de-sac. Alan jumps out of his car and runs across the fileds pleeing for help and shouting mentalist. On reading what I have just typed, it is clear that you need to see the clip to fully appreciate it. I hope I have wetted your appetites for Mr.Partridge, Steve Coogans finest character by far.

Mine was November 9, 1965, when "The Great Blackout" hit New York City and knocked the major networks off of the air (remember, there was not cable back in those prehistoric days).

So, what, like any jackass can write anything here? My favorite recent TV moment was on the news a couple months ago when Lieutenant Gubernor Cruz Bust-a-move Bustamente called a group of niggers "niggers."

Mine is slightly obscure. Anyone remember The Fall And Rise Of Reginald Perrin (with my favourite alltime actor Leonard Rossiter)? If so, do you remember the regular bits where CJ (Reggie's boss) would say "I didn't get where I am today by..." THe sentence would conclude with a suggestion of Reggie's that CJ wished to dismiss. It was very amusing. Though I did enjoy the end of The Wonder Years, too.
