It won't help. As we all know, her heart will go on. Sounds like something from Edgar Allen Poe, doesn't it? |

Um, OK, I guess this got a little to lit-crit for y'all. See, Celine Dion had the big hit song from the movie Titanic and the song was called My Heart Will Go On. So I was thinking how it would be really weird and creepy if she died but her heart, you know, went on. Well in fact, Edgar Allen Poe wrote a story on this same basic premise. The Tell-Tale Heart, is narrated by a self-described madman who commits a murder and hides the body, only to be betrayed by a sound that he imagines to be the continued beating of the dead man's heart. Could it say sorry and present us all with some kind of gift? I don't know, but I wouldn't mind a snow-capped mountain and a large icy lake. Maybe. |
